Metropolitan Pharmacy Services (MPS) offers specialised professional pharmacy services to Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF) and community customers. MPS support is characterised by good relationships, accurate documentation and a commitment to delivering useful support services and medication management efficiencies.
Formed by Gerard Stevens AM in 1980, Metropolitan Pharmacy Services offers a comprehensive range of pharmacy services, committed to the health, wellness and vitality of all of its customers.
Gerard is at the forefront of medication management services in Australia, having invented the Webster-pak and established Webstercare, Australia's leading medication management company. As a result, MPS customers benefit from best professional pharmacy practice and the latest technological innovations in medication management.
Metropolitan Pharmacy Services has developed into a large and progressive pharmacy and is conveniently situated in the inner west Sydney suburb of Leichhardt. The current premises were built specifically to accommodate the community and aged care businesses.

Gerard Stevens is one of Australia’s leading pharmacy experts in medication management and aged care. As founder and Managing Director of Webstercare, a world leader in medication management innovation, Gerard was inspired as a young pharmacist by his desire to solve many of the challenges in optimising medication use.
Gerard’s innovations now total more than 600 and are used in RACFs and communities throughout Australia, supported by more than 3200 pharmacies.
As a registered, practicing pharmacist in NSW, Gerard was the first Australian pharmacist accredited to perform Residential Medication Management Reviews (RMMRs).
Being an early adopter, Gerard also established MediTrax, a leading provider of education for nurses and RMMR services in Australia today.
Gerard's lifetime achievements have been recognised through numerous national and international awards.

A self-confessed perfectionist, MPS Pharmacy Manager, Danielle, has extensive medication management experience. She has worked in pharmacies for 17 years; 11 years as a pharmacist and the past nine years working at MPS.
Danielle says her ongoing search for perfection is reinforced every day because the decisions and actions she and her staff make have the potential to impact on the health of more than 1300 aged care residents every day, along with the hundreds of daily customers living in the local community.
“Our aim is to treat our customers with honesty, fairness and integrity. We want to achieve a consistent, sustainable level of service which enhances customer experience by making our best efforts each and every day."
Our pharmacy team
All MPS staff are fully trained and understand the needs of medication supply in aged care. All members of staff who handle RACFs, including delivery staff, have current police check clearance.
Staff at MPS speak a variety of languages including English, Arabic, Polish, Greek, Italian, Armenian, Hindi and Korean.
Our team includes:

Experienced pharmacists, who supervise process and check all orders and supplies. They are available for advice at any time, to management, nursing/care staff and residents of aged care faciities.

Accredited pharmacists, who conduct RMMRs and liaise with RACF staff and doctors.

Aged Care Liaison Pharmacists, who regularly visit facilities to review medication orders, provide in-services and attend medication advisory committee meetings.
MPS customers deal with the same, competent staff at all times, ensuring a high level of continuity and understanding of each facility's special needs.
